Show Valley Horses For Denver's Big Show At the National Western Stock show, which is to be held at Denver, Colorado, from January lGth to 23rd, inclusive, and when fine horses and cattle will be exhibited from all parts of the country, Gunnison Valley will have on exhibition Some of its best horses for the thousands of visitors who will attend the show. A full carload car-load of animals were shipped from the Gunnison station the first of this week and the animals will go to Denver, Den-ver, where they will be groomed and put in shape for exhibition. "It is a yearly event," said O. C. Doke, the well known Ephraim stockman, stock-man, "to exhibit horses and other stock from Southern Utah sections and past experience has shown that it is a wonderful advertisement . and that the valleys can and do. produce fine stock and worthy of exhibition at the great western stock shows. The car load sent out this week are exceptionally excep-tionally fine animals, being the heavy draft breed. More than the usual interest in-terest is being shown, lately, in the stock shows of the west and breeders are becoming educated to the importance impor-tance of raising and exhibiting good stock. In years to come it is going to prove a big asset and breeders will realize the importance by the sales that are made at the shows." Mr. Doke stated that Denver was making elaborate preparations for the big show. Thousands of head of livestock live-stock will be on exhibition and there"" will be demonstrations by boys' and gilds' clubs, big horse show every night and pure-bred stock sales.' |
