Show Reckless Driver Hits Steam Roller Mrs. Thydais Hansen, a resident of Centerfield, had a mighty close call to serious injuries last Saturday evening and that she escaped with the slight bruises and cuts she sustained sus-tained is only a miracle. As it was. she received several severe cuts on her face, neck and back of her head when she crashed into the windshield of the Ford car in which she was riding. Mr. Hansen, who was driving driv-ing the car, also sustained several minor cuts and was sligthly bruised. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen were coming north through Centerfield, and according ac-cording to reports, the car in which they were riding, was without lights. When near the Andrew Fjeldsted home the auto in some manner crashed into the ibi,g steam roller which is being used by the road contractors. con-tractors. When the auto struck the big steam roller the impact caused Mrs. Hansen to lurch , forward and into the windshield. The Ford car was badly wrecked. The Hansen accident is the second sec-ond to be recorded on the new high way and both were the same week. According to reports Hansen was driving his car without the proper lights as required by lav and this, it is said, caused the collision, as the driver was unable to see the big roller which had been parked on the roajside. |
