Show HIGH SCHOOL NOTES The Agricultural college Glee club, an organization that has not only gained renoun in the state but also in the nation, will make its appear-er.ee appear-er.ee at the High school auditorium on the evening of Thursday March 2G, There are over 25 young! men lin this club and under the direction of Professor Johnson will live up to1 the expectation of the most critical .in . glee club work. The club has travel-I travel-I ed through Idaho and Utah this year and in past years has journeyed as far west as San Franpisco and east to Virginia. The preliminary contest held in public speaking Friday afternoon proved interesting and instructive. The contestants who will take part in the finals are Avery Beck, Esther Lund, Oeo Barlow, Elvona Soren-son, Soren-son, and Erma Barlow. It has been the policy and custom cus-tom of the high school each year to conduct a contest in public speaking. speak-ing. The student delivering the best discourse is given a medal. The subject sub-ject is chosen by the student and represents his work in a particular field. In the past the medal has been contributed by some citizen of the valley who is interested in the school and the developement of its young people. The final contest will be held in about two weeks. A musical pro- . gram will be given in connection with the speeches. The public is not only invited to be present but is urged to be with us and decide for them- ! selves what our students can do. |
