Show LuDeen Edwards Called to Reward Ida LuDeen Edwards, one of. Gunnison's highly respected residents, resi-dents, and who was widely known and loved by all, answered answer-ed the final call of her Maker at the Holy Cross hospital last Sun-daf Sun-daf night at 1 2 o'clock. Miss Edwards underwent a most deli- cate operation earlier in the week and hopes were entertained for her recovery. Complications, however, developed, and C. M. Edwards and LeRoy Edwards of this city were summoned to the bedside and were with their sister sis-ter when t'he end came. Miss Edwards passed to the other side peacefully and without pain, being be-ing conscious almost to the end. When the news was received here it proved a severe shock to the citizens of Gunnison, as few were aware of the seriousness of the woman. LuDeen Edwards was a native of Sanpete county. She was born at Sterling December 11, 1884. Some twenty years ago she came to Gunnison and had since made this city her home. When but 1 6 years of age she was stricken with rheumatism and had been a sufferer since. Some 1 I years ago she underwent an operation and during the past four months two other operations were performed per-formed in the hopes of correcting the ailment. All proved futile, and the good woman was relieved reliev-ed from all suffering when the angel of death called her. Miss Edwards, in her early life, joined the Latter. Day Saints church and when a ry ' j ung girl was active in primary and Sunday Sun-day school work. Her failing health of recent years prevented her activities. She was, however, ever ready to aid in sickness and want and her cherful ways won for her hosts of warm friends who will grieve at her death. Surviving Miss Edwards axe one sister, Mrs. R. Q. Dorius of San Francisco, and' three brothers, broth-ers, Attorney C. M. Edwards and LeRoy Edwards of this city, and Arley Edwards of Blackfoot, ldaho. Mrs. Dorius and Mr. and Mrs. Arley Edwards arrived in the city yesterday to attend the) funeral fune-ral which will be held this afternoon after-noon at 2 o'clock from the Relief Re-lief society hall. Bishop Leslie Kidman will have charge of the services. |
