Show CODE OF ETHICS ADOPTED BY EDITORS The Southern Newspaper Publishers Publish-ers association at a meeting held recently, re-cently, in Asheville, N. C, adopted a code of ethics based on the assumption assump-tion that a newspapers' first duty in to print the news, honestly and fairly, fair-ly, unbiased by any other consideration. considera-tion. Among the points made in the code were these: "Recognizing honest differences of opinion exist, we may vigorously maintain our own position without denouncing others as dishonest and unfair." "Decency should be . the guiding star in the printing of news, editorials, editor-ials, advertizing and all feature articles arti-cles or illustrations. "Is it fit to print and to be read I by my own mother?" should be the test rather than "Will it sell more papers?" "Consideration for the unfortunate unfortun-ate and for guiltless victims of the faults of others."
