Show Gunnison Valley Schools Closing Successful Year This week marks the closing of another an-other successful school year in the Gunnison Valley. During the entire year the schools have been in session ses-sion and fortunately nothing of a serious nature has interferred to force any closing and .both boys and girls, particularly those who will receive re-ceive diplomas of graduation, are in high spirits and the erosing sessions are to be filled with many activities. At the Gunnison Valley high school nine sweet girl graduates will receive re-ceive diplomas. Lincoln Students Entertain Students of the Lincoln school at Centerfield gave an interesting commencement com-mencement exercise at the Kinema theatre Monday night of this week. The theatre was packed and standing stand-ing room was at a premium and throughout the appreciative audience listened with rapt attention to the following program: Calendar of Months ..First and Second Sec-ond Grades. Students Enjoy Outing -, The big school truck, loaded down with the eighth grade students from the Washington school, wheeled out of Gunnison yesterday morning and headed for Palisade park, where the; annual outing was enjoyed by the students. Lunch baskets filled with "goodies" occupied a large portion of the truck and at noon a spnleoEA the truck and at noon a splendid luncheon was enjoyed. During the afternoon a track meet was held and boys and girls alike joined in the sports and made merry. The contests consisted of foot races, jumping and many other stunts and while no national na-tional records were smashed, some of the events were close and decidedly interesting. After a day of merriment merri-ment and feasting the students returned re-turned and today are preparing for the final wind-up of school. |
