Show Vicious War Declared; Enemies To Be Routed Disease and filth breeding places, rubbish piles, rusty and broken brok-en down fences, faded homes and , everything that detracts from the beauty of the city beware! War has been declared and the date for the bombardment has been set for Thursday, May 22. On this day, beginning early, warriors will be out in force and the enemies, ene-mies, Old Man Filth, Disgraceful Rubbish, Rotten Manure and the whole family are to be routed as never before. Preparations for the crusade were made at a" special meeting of the members of the city council Tuesday night, and representatives representa-tives of the board of health and the Lions club were present to lend aid in planning for a clean-up day that will surpass any ever attempted at-tempted in Gunnison. Districts were named and captains for the several districts were chosen and organization and preparations are now under full head and when the signal is sounded for the start, any army of enhtusiasts will be ready to make the city "spick and span" and a really fit place in which to live and enjoy supreme happiness. hap-piness. All the business houses will close their doors at ten o'clock on the morning of May 22. The stores will remain closed until three in the afternoon. During the period of cleaning up the city, every big American with pride and an ambition to have Gunnison shine and be free from filth and unsightly things, will be expected to doff his or her coat and "dig" in.
