Show Big Drive Starts to Fight The Demon Tuberculosis j of health, and thus help in the fight against tuberculosis. j Dr. John A. Widtsoe, in a stirring appeal to the people of Utah, closes with these words: "When your local ' committee calls on you;, remember j that every seal you buy contributes to j the fight. And what a figbt that means." And what a victory it means, for never forget that tuberculosis can be prevented and can be cured. You are planning your Christmas , gifts now. To all you love you will give something. Don't let it end there. The greatest gift of all is life; that you cannot give. The next greatest gift is health, and that you can give. Give it, and feel the joy that conies with giving. Every penny Christmas Seal has a big part to play. Give it its chance, by buying to the limit." For several months the work of organizing every county in the State for the sale has been in progress, until by the time set for the opening of the campaign every place, no matter how small, will have its committee, under whose direction the sale will be conducted. Dr. John A. Widtsoe is directing the state-wide campaign, with James H. Wallis, secretary. An advisory committee, of two hundred prominent men and women in each county, has been selected by Dr. Widtsoe to help him in "putting the job over." An allotment of Christmas Seals has been made to each local committee, and it is expected that everyone will be sold and none returned. The schools, which have always been ready to help, are again called upon by Dr. C. N. Jensen, State Superintendent, Superin-tendent, and every boy and girl, teacher and principal, will willingly respond in the. great cause. Every prominent man and woman in the United States, from President Cool-idge Cool-idge down, every monthly magazine and trade journal, every state and church official, including Gov. Mabey, the First. Presidency of the L. D. S. Church, head of the Catholic and other churches, presidents of the State Farm Bureau, Federation of Women's Clubs, General Relief Society, So-ciety, senators and congressmen, have all endorsed the sale of Christ-n"s Christ-n"s Seals, because these penny stickers furnish the only funds with which to fight tuberculosis in both state and nation. This year, especially, especi-ally, the people are asked to go the limit, because of the movement to build a state tuberculosis sanatorium, at the head of which movement is I Hon. George Albert Smith, with a committee of prominent men and women. Another movement to be undertaken with the funds raised this , year is a summer outdoor camp for I tuberculosis children, of which there are many in the state. Remember Christ said, "Inasmuch as ye have I done this unto one of the least of , these, ye have done it unto me." Christmas seals protect our children I from tuberculosis. The good they do, ; depends on you. "A seal on each letter, helps many get better." Seal I your Christmas mail with the stamp |
