Show LOCAL BANKING CONCERN j MAILS CLEVER BOOKLETS "Better Banking," under the Federal Fed-eral Reserve System, is the title of a clever booklet that has been mailed to the clients and others of the Gunnison Gun-nison Valley Bank of this city. The booklet is a "short story without figures" and gives an exhaustive review re-view of the banking business under the Federal Reserve System. Some i 500 of the booklets have been mailed to the citizens of tho valley and ad-! joing communities. "Better Banking" gives the his-j tory of the banking business before the Federal Reserve System ana ! tells how each bank stood alone and the risk the depositor took under the old system. It cites the incidents of the panic of 1907, when each individual in-dividual bank, seeking to protect its own interests, weakened the entire ' banking structure of the country. Following is a treatise on the com- j parison of the banking system of today to-day and- shows the quick, certain, automatic way by which the banks, help each other in good times and bad. Throughout the booklet treats on. many- interesting-' subjects and the reading of it will prove highly interesting in-teresting and educational to those not familiar with the system now universally used. |
