I I Society VWSWVAiWlVWVV Miss Goldie Peterson was hostess to twenty-five of her friends at the home of her parents in Centerfield last Saturday evening to a "Christmas "Christ-mas party." An evening of enjoyment enjoy-ment in playing games and dancing was highly enjoyed. Refreshments were served at a lale hour. Mrs. J. W. Jones delightfully entertained en-tertained the Social Circle club at her home last Monday afternoon, it beii(g the regular meeting of th? working and literary section of the club. The members listened to a reading by Mrs. J. B. Metcalf, excerpts ex-cerpts being taken from Harold Bell Wright's novel, "Their Yesterdays." This feature, as well as the social gathering, made the meeting decidedly decided-ly interesting. Mrs. Jones served her guests with delicious refresh- nents. o The marriage of Miss Virginia Whit-lock Whit-lock of Mayfield, and Marsden Gribbie, of Gunnison, is announced, the wedding to take place Wednesday, Jhnuary 7. o Miss Vada Peterson and Miss The! ma Willardson entertained a Jew of their friends at the Peterson hotel Christmas night. The Progressive Five Hundred section of the Social Circle club were .he guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Bown Wednesday evening. o Mr. and Mrs. Fremont . Barnes ,vere the honor guests at a well appointed ap-pointed party tendered in their behalf be-half at the Presbyterian chapel last Monday evening, the affair being arranged ar-ranged by the Missionary society of .he Presbyterian church and the Royal Neighbors, both of which Mrs. Barnes was a member. Some fil'ty-.ive fil'ty-.ive guests were present and a most enjoyable evening spent. Miss Virginia Vir-ginia Peterson rendered a solo and Mrs. Charlotte Villard gave a reading, read-ing, both numbers being warmly received. re-ceived. Games and guessing con-.asts con-.asts were played, at the conclusion of which refreshments were served. The two organizations presanted Mrs. Barnes with a beautiful set of silver corks, knives and spoons, as an ap-Dreciation ap-Dreciation of her loyalty to the orders or-ders to which she belonged. Mr. and llrs. Barnes expect to leave about Ihe 15th of this month for Idaho Falls, Idaho, where they will make teir future home. Miss Elma Fjeldsted entertained in honor of Miss Doris and Lionel Sorenson last Saturday evening. Her guests were Miss Erma Lundberg, Miss Lilly Johnson, Alvin Peterson. Fred J. and Byron Fjeldsted, Mrs. Y. C. Sorenson and Mrs. Kate John-3on. John-3on. Several musical selections, both vocal and instrumental, proved : a feature of the evening. A sump- , tuous supper was served. Mrs. T. O. H. Bogalsky gave an en-; joyable party at the home of her mother, Mrs. W. H. Gribbie, on Christmas eve. The company assembled assem-bled in the dining room and when ail was in readiness were grouped at the door leading to the parlor. At ai signal the door was thrown open I when Miss Gladys Gribbie at the pi- ano rendered the Christmas carol. "Client Night, Holy Night," in an excellent ex-cellent manner, the company joining in the singing. The parlor, as well as the remainder o the house was tP'jtt fully decorated. In the renter of th-? parlor a large table bad been - 'aced decorated with ferns and potted pot-ted phuits.
