Show MAYFIELD MAN DIES SUDDENLY C. R. Nielson, Jr., one of the prominent prom-inent young business men and a highly high-ly respected citizen of Mayfield, died very suddenly at his home last Monday Mon-day morning about 5 o'clock. Mr. Nielson had not been sick, neither had he complained, but when his wife attempted to arouse him after he gave several groans, her efforts were in vain. Sunday evening, as was his custom, cus-tom, he was assisting his father at the postoffice. After the office had been closed Mr. Nielson went to his own home and after playing with his children and making some toys for them he retired with his wife. Eariy in the morning the two-year-old baby awakened the mother and before she again had fallen asleep she heard her husband groan, as if in pain. She arose and tried to arouse him and then it was found that he had died. Last year Mr. Nielson suffered an attack at-tack of influenza and it is presumed that the disease left a weakened heart vhich was the ultimate cause of death. The deceased was about 40 years old and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Nielson. He was born in May-field May-field and has resided the;e practically practic-ally all his life. He was married and besides his wife he leaves four children, chil-dren, one girl and three hoys. Funeral services were held for Mr. Niolson at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon af-ternoon at the Relief Society hall at Mayfield. For the occasion the hall bed been appropriately decorated in white with beautiful floral designs. Services were conducted by Bishop WiHmdson and among others who delivered short addrersss were Hy-rum Hy-rum Christensen, ex-bishop of May-field, May-field, Peter Christensen of Emery, E. S. Anderson and Edward Bunderson. During the service? "Lead Me Gently Home. Father" and '"Oh, My Father" were sung. Rome twenty-five relatives and friends of the deceased and Mrs Nielson were present at the funeral ; services from Emery. Mr. Nielson was a member of the Church and was an ardent worker in the Mutuals. His thought' were of others and for iheir happiness. happi-ness. Particularly was he devoted to his family and to his aged parent, and for his manly and upright lif1 his calling is sorely grieved by the host of relatives and friends. |
