Show City Fathers Discuss Impor tent Matters Water Tax and Licenses Are To Be Systematically Sys-tematically Regulated Committees Com-mittees Appointed. The newly elected city administration administra-tion held its first regular business meeting last Saturday night and plans for conducting the city affairs for the coming two years were gone into with vim. After going into the affairs of the retiring officers insofar as municipal duties were concerned, the question of raising sufficient finances fi-nances to meet the demands were freely discussed. Among the important matters taken tak-en up 'was the water, city licenses, and the observance of the ordinances. It was brought out that many were getting by with low licenses while others were paying more in proportion. propor-tion. There will be a revision and all will be put on an equality in proportion pro-portion to the business. It was also shewn that the water taxes were far too low and with the present rate the city was losing and it is likely that a raise in the rate will follow. To make a greater saving, in water Marshal Tollestrup was instructed to inform all those who persist in letting let-ting hydrants run promiscuously to stop the waste and in the event the order is ignored, drastic measures will be resorted to. Mayor J. W. Jones in addressing his co-workers before appointing the several committees who are to work with him, urged co-operation in all matters and to give the citizens the very best in every respect. Mayor Jones made the following appointments: appoint-ments: City physician Dr. J. A. Hagan. City attorney A. E. Parks. City engineer en-gineer Carl Erikson. City sexton Orson Ludvigson. The following committees were appointed: ap-pointed: Cemetery and Lights R. C. Swal-berg Swal-berg and Ira Overfelt. Streets, Sidewalks and Ditches George Halverson and Martin Peterson. Peter-son.
