Show Miss Oliva Bown of Salt Lake City, came in last Sunday for an extended visit with Mr. and Mrs. James Bown of this city and before returning she will spend some time at Fayette where she has relatives. Mr. and Mrs. John P. Jensen returned re-turned from a visit to Provo and other northern cities last evening. They motored to Provo Saturday and spent Labor Day wdth their son, Mar-low Mar-low Jensen. Mrs. Daisy Jens.en, who accompanied accompani-ed her father, Michael Jensen as far as Provo, on the latter's journey to California, returned to her home in Gunnison this week. Mrs. Jensen visited with friends at Provo and Salt Lake. H. A. Kearns, the well known Gunnison Gun-nison business man, left for the coast last Tuesday. He will visit San Francisco, Fran-cisco, Los Angeles and other business sections and expects to be absent two weeks or more. Miss Rilla Kearns, who spent the past summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Kearns, returned to San Francisco Tuesday of this week. Miss Kearns is a trained nurse and will be associated with one of the larger hospitals at the Bay city. Mrs. C. W. Perkins will spend some three months visiting with her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Sullivan at East Helena, Mont. Mrs. Perkins left fur the north Monday, going as far as Provo with M. H. Childs. Bert Newman, after spending the summer here with his mother, left for Salt Lake last Friday. From the capitol city he will go to Price where he will accept a position in the Price LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST. Fletcher Peterson, manager for Max Cohen's Gunnison store, spent last Sunday with friends at Salina. Leonard Thompson has returned from a brief visit to Marysvale. He went there in the interests of the 1 Telluride Power company. Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Jones and Mr. and Mrs. II .W. Cherry attended the ' Masonic banquet and dance at Fish Lake on Labor Day. Miss Alta Ross was a traveler to Provo last Saturday. She will be absent for some time visiting with friends and relatives. Golden Jensen returned to his work at Ophir, Utah, after spending a few days visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Jensen in this city. Mrs. Edward Christensen is the hostess to the members of the Royal Neighbors at her home - this afternoon'. after-noon'. Dr. Ernell Jensen and family of Ephraim, spent Saturday and Sunday Sun-day as the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edd. Jensen of this city. Mrs. F. A. Beck and Mrs. George Larson left for a brief visit to relatives rel-atives and friends at Salt Lake last Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Edd Jensen delightfully delight-fully entertained at a dinner party last evening for Mr., and Mrs. Clar- Junior high school as instructor. L. Ludvigson, superintendent, and C. W. Perkins, chief carpenter for the Valdasia Mining company,' spent several days here last week. They returned to the camp at Marysvale Tuesday and were accompanied by Pat Henry, president of the company. C. C. Nielson, deputy county as-sesor, as-sesor, returned last Saturday from a brief business visit to Salt Lake City. On his return home he was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Hughes and children. The latter were guests of Mrs. Ida B. Nielson and Mr. C. C. Nielson over Sunday. At the meeting of the Relief Society So-ciety last Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. Parley Christiansen was chosen to fill the presidency of the organization, organiza-tion, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mrs. Hyrum Fred-rickson. Gilbert and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Gray and children of Provo, were Sunday and Monday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Duggins. Mrs. W. L. Tollestrup of Salt Lake is here and will spend three weeks or more visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L .Thorpe at Axtell, Ax-tell, and her sister, Miss J. J. Thorpe of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Anderson returned re-turned last Monday from a ten-day vacation trip to Salt Lake City.
