Show Last Sad Rites For Mrs. Childs Impressive yet simple services were held for Sirs. Sarah Abdagill Childs at the family residence in this city last Sunday afternoon at. 1 o'clock. It has been announced that services would be held at the Relief Re-lief Society hall, but owing to the sickness prevailing throughout the city as a result of the Influenza, and at the solicitation of the city health officials, the program was changed and the funeral hold at the home. Notwithstanding the fact that much sickness was prevailing, hundreds of friends gathered to pay the last respects re-spects to the estimable woman who had been called to the great beyond. Bishop Ernest Swalberg hail charge of the services and the principal prin-cipal speakers were Joseph Christen-sen, Christen-sen, John Larson and Parley Christiansen. Chris-tiansen. Each of the speakers paid a high tribute to the deceased and lauded her kind and loving disposition disposi-tion for, which she was always known to have by her many friends. A selected quartet sang as the opening and closing hymns, "Sometime "Some-time We'll Understand" aud "Resting "Rest-ing Now from Care and Sorrow." A duet, "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," by Mrs. Ernest Halverson and C. C. Edmonds, Ed-monds, and a solo, "That Little Mother of Mine," by C. C. Edmonds, comprised the music at the services. The opening prayer was offered by Adolph Peterson, . and A. E. Park closed the services with prayer. The floral offerings by warm friends and relatives of the deceased were profuse, the casket being banked with the beautiful tributes. Following the services the remains were taken to the city cemetery for final interment. |
