Show State Fair Will Excel All Others Plans for staging the Annual Utah State Fair, October 1 to (, arc well under way, acording to W. 1). Sutton, Sut-ton, manager. The exposition, as usual will be representative of the state's finest products of field, range, factory and mine, not to mention the interesting demonstrations and displays dis-plays of the various education institutions. in-stitutions. That there will be more and finer exhibits than ever before is the belief of the directors who have their special departments rounded round-ed into good preliminary shape. A new feature of the fair this year will be the big fall Automobile Show, to be held in the remodeled coliseum. The great circular building build-ing that heretofore has aroused the choice exhibits of cattle and horses has been radically changed in the interior in-terior and converted into a modern auto show pavilion. The spacious and artistic booths and platforms will display all the new models of all the makes of automobiles sold in this Intermountain region. Dealers and distributors are rallying to the call with real enthusiasm. They appreciate ap-preciate the opportunity to exhibit their cars to 100,000 visitors to the fair, realizing that hundreds of good prospects will be among the throngs of spectators. The horse racing card is practically practical-ly made up and the management believes be-lieves it is as good as if not better than the fine racing program of last year. Already the local owners are using the track to get their stock in tip-top shape. The amusement features fea-tures will include a novel carnival troupe, with the usual shows and stunts. A spectacular program of fireworks will be carried out in the evening on the race track enclosure. The manufactured exhibits will be well representative of this phase of Utah's industry. The manufacturers' manufactur-ers' building is being renovated and redecorated. An innovation in arrangement ar-rangement will be apparent to the visitor as he comes through the main entrance. All the aisles will radiate in straight diagonal lines from the north door, providing a more pleasing pleas-ing general effect and facilitating the matter of scrutinizing the individual booths. Free dancing will be given on the top floor of the building every afternoon and evening of fair week. The livestock exhibits will be on par with the best years of fair history, his-tory, according to John T. Caine, III, jnewly appointed director of that department. de-partment. The showing will include all the important breeds of both range and dairy cattle, with good big exhibits of sheep and hogs. The poultry and rabbit show will be as inclusive and interesting as it was last year. Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, Weber, Box Elder and Cache Counties will participate in the first-class exhibits of agricultural and horticultural products, pro-ducts, competing for the sweepstake prize. Several booths are already being decorated and aranged for the opening of the fair. |
