The pretty songs and music were refreshing, the comedy was clean and clever, the dances well executed exe-cuted by the pretty young girls, and these, with the costuming, created a wonderful, pleasing effect. Professor A. C. Johnson proved a great asset to the play, not only on account of his splendid voice and ease and skill Mn acting, but on account of the prestige he gave the opera. Real talent was displayed by "our townspeople" as directors, actors, musicians and costumers. Bishop Swalberg pleased the audience audi-ence with his fine singing voice and equally as good speaking voice and his clever portrayal of the comedy part. Rhoda Larson was a charming court chaperone sufficiently so that 'the king overlooked her sentiment. Miss Lucile Jensen and C. C. Edmonds Ed-monds were at their best in the "Cupid "Cu-pid Song," . which received a round bf applause.- The dignified attendants attend-ants to the king were well portrayed by Kearns Ferre and Milton Perkins. Miss Burnham, as director of the costuming, cos-tuming, and Miss Mary Jensen, as director of dancing, proved very capable ca-pable assistants. Miss Ida Johnson, the talented pianist, pi-anist, who so ably assisted all through the training of the opera and .whose execution at the presentation was a m;.rked feature, is deserving of much praise.
