Show Mrs. R. Edwards was the delightful delight-ful hostess at a luncheon and "500" party at her home last Saturday afternoon. af-ternoon. At one-thirty a tempting hot luncheon was served, and following fol-lowing cards were played. Honors were won by Mrs. Ernest Halverson and Mrs. A. M. Christensen, at the card session. Red and white carnations carna-tions were used in profusion as decorations. dec-orations. Thirty guests enjoyed the hospitality of the hostess. Miss Margaret Carolus, a sister to Mrs. Frank O'lsen, came in from Boz-man, Boz-man, Mont., last week. She will remain re-main in the valley until the coming fall, as the guest of her sister. Max Cohen, the Gunnison-Salina merchant, spent last Friday in Gunnison, Gun-nison, looking after his business interests. in-terests. R. Edwards of Dividend, is here for a few days visiting with his family. Mr. Edwards hasresigned his . position as manager for the mer-'j cantile company he has been with,; and shortly he will accept a more lucrative position with another concern. con-cern. Just as soon as arrangements can be. made, Mr. Edwards will remove re-move his wife and family to the mining camp. . LOCAL ITEMS OF ! INTEREST. j ITyrum Christensen returned the first of the week from a business visit to Salt Lake City. Mrs. and Mrs. J. M. Knighton, who have been absent in Salt Lake for the past three weeks on a visit to . friends and relatives, returned to Gunnison Monday evening. Miss LuDeen Edwards was here , from Salina this week, visiting with ' relatives. She reports her brother, Arloy, who recently underwent an operation for appendicitis, as improv-nicely. improv-nicely. Mr. Arley was discharged from the hopsital last Saturday. I C. C. Edmonds, cashier for the j Gunnison City National bank and secretary-treasurer for the Utah j Poultry Producers, Inc., came from . M. ; Knighton and Mrs. J. B. Roper. Carnations Car-nations created a pleasing effect in j the decoration scheme at the Ander-s')ii Ander-s')ii home. Refreshments were served at five thirty. Mi s. Bert Willardson .left for the north Tuesday morning, going to Salt I. alec. She will remain there for the present awaiting the return of Mr. Willardson, who is now at Los An-s. An-s. There is some liklihood that Mr. Willardson will be sent to the eesst to represent the Utah Poultry I Producers, Inc., and in that event Mr. and Mrs. Willardson will make their home in Southern California. |
