Show War Savings Day June 28. Governor Bamberger has Issued a proclamation declaring Friday, June 28, War Savings Day. The proclamation proclama-tion Is as follows : A PROCLAMATION. The people of Utah have contributed generously of their men anJ of their means in assisting the nation in carrying carry-ing this struggle in which we find ourselves our-selves engaged t4 a successful and glorious termination. Sacrifices have been made and greater sacrifices are necessary. To every call the government govern-ment has made on Utah for men or money, Utah has given a most generous gener-ous response. The call now comes to the people of this state to practice economy and out of their savings invest in War Savings Sav-ings Stamps having a maturity value of nine millions of dollars. The President Presi-dent of the United States has asked the people of Utah to practice patriotic self-denial and by June 28, 1918, to pledge themselves to purchase War Savings Stamps in this amount during the remainder of the year. With the firm belief that the people of Utah will not fall behind the people of other loyal states in responding to this appeal, I call upon every man, wtunan nud child to pledge himself to a liberal investment in War Savings Stamps for the remainder of the year. In accordance with the proclamation of the President of the United States, I, Simon Bamberger, Governor of Utah, o hereby proclaim and set apart Friday, Fri-day, June 28, 1918. as War Savings day, upon which day or sooner all persons per-sons shall give their pledges for War Savings Stamps at such times and places and in such manner as shall be indicated by the Honorable George T. ,Odell, War Savings Director of the State of Utah. , I call upon all loyal citizens to assist local committees and others engaged in the work of soliciting pledge throughout the state to the end that by June 28th sufficient pledges will have been secured to guarantee that Utah will invest the amount allotted to It.
