Surely to Delong to such an organization is sufficient reward. LOCAL RED CROSS The secretary is in receipt of a letter let-ter from headquarters at Denver regarding re-garding the 90 suits of pajamas just recently sent out by the local chapter, chap-ter, which reads: "I am pleased to report that the work contained In your case, numbered 5, was found to be excellent. Please thank your members for the good work they are sending in and for the great interest they are taking. With best wishes, I remain yours sincerely, Josephine D. Wood, superintendent of hospital garments." . Don't get discouraged or "sore" because be-cause "So-and-So" told "Somebody" that "Somebodyelse" is gecting credit for work you had done, because probably pro-bably she is not. Every effort has been made to make proper acknowledgement ack-nowledgement of gifts of money, time and service. The American Red Cross is not a primary school, where merit cards are issued. It is an organization for service, ser-vice, much of it unknown and unrewarded unre-warded except for the individual consciousness con-sciousness of duty done. To fully appreciate the work done by the Red Cross requires the ability to visualize the needs "over there." When our boys go out they write back: "Tlje Red Cross and the dear Old Flag are coupled in the soldier's mind," or. "Don't think of stopping your Red Cross work; I can see now what it is doing for the boys." And |
