Show MAY NOT USE AMERICANS. United States Not to Participate in Proposed Invasion of Germany. Washington. The United States, according ac-cording to the best sources of information infor-mation here, will take no part in a further military invasion of Germany unless specifically ordered to do so by the president. The general staff holds that Major General Henry T. Allen, now in command of 20,000 American troops in the Coblenz sector, is only "sentimentally" under ti.e jurisdiction of Marshal Foc-h and that all orders to Allen nowadays go to him direct from the United States government and not through the French general headquarters. The war department, in fact, maintains that when the United States was given its present sector it received practically total independence within the certain defined limits of territory which it now holds. |
