Show Hendrickson Not Killed Inquiries made by Dr.W.C.Ebaugh, secretary of the state council of de-defense, de-defense, at the request of Mrs. E. H. Sorenson, of Centerfield, for details of the supposed death of James L. Hendrickson, Hen-drickson, of Sanpete county, who is serving in France, brought the following follow-ing rsply from the war department: "Private James L. Hendrickson, Camp Kearny April replacement draft, American expeditionary force, is not listed in the casualties. "Notification will be sent to Mrs. Nina Nelson, Gunnison, Utah, by telegram, tel-egram, should he meet with any mishap." mis-hap." Mrs. Nelson is the relative named by Private Hendrickson to whom such word should oe sent. The report re-port that Hendrickson was killed resulted from the fact that the casualty cas-ualty lists printed on April 29, 1918, carried that name. At that time the war department was not making public pub-lic the addresses. It is now supposed that some other soldier in the army has the same name Deseret News. Later A letter from the Hendrickson Hendrick-son boys received by friends in this city last evening bears the news that both of them are altve and well. |
