Show rooms A deal of good is being done by these occasional demonstrations in food conservation. Each week we print interesting recipes on this line sent in by Mrs. Lewis. The corral and sheds at George H. Knighton's place took fire last Satur day afternoon and were wholly destroyed. The live stock, a binder and some other farm machinery kept in the sheds were saved, but a mower, a set of harness and several other things had to be left to the flames which spread so rapidly there was no chance to get at them. The damage amounted to about $300.00. Local Echoes. Miles Madsen is home again, rejected rejec-ted as a volunteer a second time because be-cause of physical unfitness. . Messrs. S. M. and S. J. The Social Circle club members are proud over the fact that although some are only beginners in the knitting knit-ting art they have completed twelve pairs of socks for the Red Cooss, to be Included in today's shipment. Owing to the prevalence of scarlet fever there will be no Sunday school at the Presbyterian chapel June 9. Josle Curtis. Mrs. John E. Metcalf entertained at dinner last Friday the following guests: Dr. and Mrs. John O. Mellor of Idaho Falls; Mr. and Mrs. John C. Mellor, Mrs. Philip Dack, Mrs. Agnes Palmer, Mrs. Eruell Jensen, Mrs. Edd Jensen, Miss Zada' Mellor, and the Misses Arlene and Louise Jensen all of Manti. Mr. and Mrs. Glen W. Dowdell are the home guests of Mrs. Dowdell's sister, Mrs. A. M. Christenson, for an indefinite stay. Mrs. Dowdell was formerly Miss Mary. Gledhill of this city and resides now atPayson. Herself Her-self and husband spent the past year in California, returning just recently to Dtah. Friday afternoon last Miss Genevieve Gene-vieve Potter, expert, of Washington, Mrs. Edith Lewis, county home demonstrator, dem-onstrator, and Miss Farnsworth, in charge of girls clubs of the county, gave an interesting demonstration of cottasje cheese malting before a class of about thirty-five women and girls at the high school domestic science |
