Show Local War Sayings Campaign Started The local War Savings committee, composed of J. M. Knighton, chairman, chair-man, Anthony Madsen and N. C. Sor-son.held Sor-son.held a meeting attended by several leading citizens last Friday evening to plan their campaign work. They duclded there to hold a representative meeting again on Monday evening and to which the invitation should be made general. At Monday evenin'g meeting was a fair turnout of leading citizens and after due discussion the original committee com-mittee of three members was enlarged enlarg-ed to 17 by adding the following named: H. A. Kearns, Nephi Gled-hill, Gled-hill, Jonn S. Peterson, W. H. Gribble, Joseph Bllxt, William Metcalf, Jos. Chrlstenson, E. L. Swalberg, James Bown.H. A. Chrlstenson, Ira Over-' Over-' felt, L. N. Hermansen, Marenus Beauregard, Beau-regard, and J. W. Jones. This enlarged committee has been In session now three evenings until a late hour apportioning the individual quotas In the precinct and Its districting district-ing for the campaign to begin in earnest ear-nest bv the 10th. . The campaign is to close not later than June 28, when it is expected that Gunnison's full quota of $22,990.0(1 or more of war savings stamps will have been bought or pledged for the year. During the six months ending June 1 at Gunnison postofflce has been sold thrift stamps t.o the value of $1,490.25 and war savings sav-ings stamps 81,823,59, a total of $3313 -64. Gunnison must and will meec this call. The committee has made careful canvass of all in the precinct in adjusting the allotment, butshould anyone be dissatisfied the matter may be taken up for readjustment in such cases. |
