Show CITY TO H AVE CEMENT WALKS At the meeting of the City Council, Coun-cil, adjourned from Saturday to last Monday night, definite steps were taken for the building of concrete sidewalks in the' city of Gunnison. The first paving' district will include practically ten blocks.. Mayor Knighton was appointed a special committee of one to take the matter up and ascertain the status of affairs af-fairs from a legal standpoint, have the necessary ordinances drawn which will create the paving district and further consult residents on the proposed city improvement. The new district will begin at the old Coop, corner on Center street and run thence east 10 the corner of Main street. Thence south to the bank corner, thev.ee east to the Perkins Per-kins corner. The unpaved walks between be-tween Center stroet and First South on the east side of Main are included. includ-ed. Beginning at the corner of First South, two blocks on either side of East First South street will be paved pav-ed with walk. From First South on the east side to Second South and thence east on Second South one block on the north side, is also included in-cluded in the proposed improvement. Beginning at the Coop, corner, First South and Main, the walks will be built for two blocks on the west side. When the work is finally complete Gunnison, will havemore than a mile and a half of paved sidewalks, and this is not all, as it is promised' to continue this work as fast as conditions con-ditions will allow. |
