Show worker in the women's auxiliaries of the ward for some time and the organizations or-ganizations joined in giving her a farewell testimonial in the R. S. hall last Friday. A number of neighbors and friends also gave Mr. and Mrs. Metcalf a farewell surprise at their home Monday night, when an enjoyable enjoya-ble time was had. Favors were taken by John M. Knighton and Mrs. A. M. Christen-son Christen-son at a card party Sunday evening tendered by Mrs. J. A. Hagan to the following guests: Messrs. and Mes-dames Mes-dames John E. Metcalf, J W. Jones, John M. Knighton, Clarence E. Halverson, Hal-verson, Ray B. Metcalf, John S. Peterson, Willis Christensen, A. M. Chrislenson and Neil Sorenson; Mrs. J. H. Salmon, Mrs. Gaorge Halverson, Halver-son, Miss Christie Madsen The hostess hos-tess served a light refreshment. Dr. J. H. Peck has taken on the benedict role, the ceremony being performed Monday last at Salt Lake which joined him in lawful wedlotl? with Miss Ruth Kearns of this oity, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Kearns. Dr. Peck and his new bride have been the recipients since their arrival here Tuesday of innumerable congratulations from their many friends of Gunnison valley. They left yesterday for their new home at Gold Hiil, Tooele county. to visit in this city Mrs. IT. A. Chris tenson, sister of Mr. Birkenshaw and Mrs. Rogers. The party remained over till Tuesday, M. and Mrs. Anthony E. Metcalf leave next Monday to maJte their home in the vicinity of Rexburg, Ida. Mrs. Metcalf has been an ardent LOCAL ECHOES. Mr. James Bown on Wednesday afternoon entertained the Social Circie club, Mrs. Hannah C. Bouvang left Sunday Sun-day to visit relatives at Empry and incidentally dispose of a stock of millinery goods. Mise Vio Sorenson Is home from Salt Lake where she teaches school, to spend spring vacation. Mrs. J. A. Hagan entertained at a party Tuesday afternoon in honor of her daughter Julia's seventh birthday anniversary. The children guests numbered thirty six. Mrs. William Baxter was hostess at a birthday party, those present being Mesdames S. Vorhees, George S, Fradces, James Baxter, Samuel Weiser, S. E. Newman and Alonzo Vorhees. Miss Amy Cooper entertained the T. B. club Tuesday evening and all present had a good time. Mrs. Dr. Peck, the club's new bride was the guest of honor. The club will be entertained en-tertained next week by Mrs. Harold Chrlstenson. The Primary association will give a dance and picnic for children tomorrow tomor-row (Saturday) afternoon, at 2 30, for children, at the R.S.hall. There will be a charge of five and ten cents only, according to giade. Let the children all go and enjoy a good time. Tohn E. Larson, one of our former townsmen who has spent several years at Salt Lake is here and has decided de-cided to move his family back to Gunnison in order to handle his farm in this valley. Mr. Larson will remain re-main himself another year at Salt Lake. The Misses Curtis and McMonigaj entertained the G. A. club and several sev-eral other guests Soturdav afternoon last at the chapel. After reading from the club book a business meeting meet-ing was held for the election of officers. Two new members were voted in. i Mrs. W II. Gribble, who has been detained at Salt Lake through her illness several weeks returned home accompanied by her son Burt last Sunday. Mrs. Gribble was taken ill while stopping with relatives at Salt Lake rn route to Milford on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. E. II. Bird.
