Show A NEW RAILWAY. Denver Papers Say the Rio Grande will Build to Brigham. Brigham, Utah, is rejoicing over a prospect that the Rio Grande Western is about to extend a branch to 1 hat town. It notes several acts on the part of surveying corps and of General Superintendent Wei by which point to that conclusion. The general policy of the Rio Grande Western is toward the construction con-struction of as many local feeders as possible in order to create business busi-ness for its main line by building up the trade and developing the resources of the country tributary to it. The policy is one that pays and not only makes a growing territory, ter-ritory, but a profitable railroad as well. Denver News. We have understood for months that the Rio Grande Western had an eye on Brigham, but were asked to lay low for a time. But now that the eat is let out of the bag, there is no use longer disguising the fact that the Rio Grande officials offici-als are looking longingly in this direction and will eventually build through from Ogden to Brigham, and probably on to Malad Valley, which is at present without a railroad. rail-road. The coming of that enterprising enter-prising road will be hailed with delight by all. This is the encouraging word the Logan Nation has for the proposed pro-posed new road: Present prospects are that an extension of the D. & R. G. Ry. will be built to Brigham City. Utah's interests in-terests are of importance to this company, and a welcome greeting will be extended to them by Northern North-ern Utah on the advent of their coming. i . ... ! |
