Show TRANSYLVANIA SAFE IN PORT. British Liner Carrying Contraband Eludes German Submarines. New York.- The anchor line steamer steam-er Transylvania ppssed safely through the war zone aMat the British isles and arrived at Greenock, Scotland, at 3 o'clock Sunday morning, it was announced an-nounced by officials of the Cunard line, to which the Transylvania was under charter. Fears had been felt for the safety of the Transylvania as she had a large cargo of contraband on board and her usual course to Liverpool, for which port she cleared, would take her near the point at which the Lusi tania was struck and sunk by a German Ger-man torpedo on May 6. |
