Show IRON ROD CARRIES DEATH White Plains Man Measuring Oil Is Shocked to Death When Gauge Touches Wires. White Plains, N. T. Guy Walker, forty years old, was killed by electric shock while measuring oil in a tank car in the freight yards of the New York, Westchester and Boston Railroad Rail-road company here. He was using an iron rod and aftei inserting it in the top of the tank cat started to withdraw it, when he touched one of the electric feed wires and about 11,000 volts shot througl" the rod and his body, killing him al most instantly. The electricity charged the meta: tank of the car and Walker was knocked to the ground after the fuh voltage had passed through him. Ht leaves a wife and five children, whe reside at Silver Lake. |
