Show Local Echoes. Miss Dorris Sorenson has relurrtJ home after spending the school torin at the B. A. C, Cedar city. Judge George II. Crosby, Jr., a. companled by Mrs Crosby and two children, paid a call on rolatives In j Gunnison last Monday enroute to Salt Lake, from St. Johns, Arizona. Mrs. Crosby is a sister of Mrs. T. M. Peterson, this city. Prof. Fred J. Fjeldsted had an enrollment en-rollment beyond what he expected at the opening session of his music school last Monday. lie conducts classes at the city hall four days in the week and at Ceuterfleld two days. It is gratifying to see the young people take up bo earnestly with this study so deserving of euc ces. The Relief society held their business meeting yesterday at the home of Mrs. Christine Olson instead in-stead of at the R. S. hall. A social after the meeting was enjoyed as a mark of respect to Mrs. Olson on her retiring after a long service as one of teachers in the society. Picnic was served and Mrs. Olson made the re clplent of a nice present. While not yet perfected In its organization or-ganization the Gunnison ward choir under the direction of Fred J. Fjeldsted Fjeld-sted will take part for the first time In ward services next Sunday. Rehearsals are being had with quite gratifying results, forty or more taking part at the practice on Wednesday night. It Is the ambition of Mr. Fjeldsted to train a special choir In which Centerfield singers will take part for the forthcoming stake conference at Gunnison the tfrst part of August. Miss Beatrice Beagler of Nephi and Mr. Merril Douglas of Axtell wera married Wednesday, May 24, at Salt Lake. The bride is the daughter ol Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beagley. She Jr a graduate of the Nephi high school. The past season she has been teaching teach-ing school at Axtell where she met Mr. Douglas. Since her graduating she has been one of the most success ful teachers of the state. She has many friends who wish her well la her last venture Juab Co. Times, |
