Show STATE LOSES COAL LANDS. Thousands of Acres In Utah Reverts Back to Government. Salt Lake City. Title to all the coal-bearing coal-bearing school lands in Utah rests In the federal government and not in the state of Utah. Thousands of acres of such lands, valued at millions of dollars, which were included in the original school land grant to Utah, revert back to the government, and the state must select non-mineral lands in lieu thereof. All sales of such coal-bearing lands which have been made by the state are canceled can-celed and the purchasers must look to the state for recompense for their purchases pur-chases and must deal with the federal government In the matter of further use of such lands.
