The various parts rendered made up a very interesting program, which included selections from the high school orchestra, under the direction of Leroy Lund, a short time also in 1 dancing being spent as a finale. N. C. Sorenson and Mayor Joseph Christenson Chris-tenson each gave a talk, highly complimenting com-plimenting the honored guests. Mr. Bird came to Gunnison with his family, from Milford about six? teen months ago, taking the manage.- ment and a partner interest in the store of W. H. Gribble. He returns now to resume his former business of lumber merchant at Milford, where he owns a comfortable home and has a prospect of business success more promising, he belivesathan is before him in1 this place. Shortly after taking up his residence in this city Mr. Bird was chosen to be the ward clerk, succeeding Elmer E. Kearns. Later he was selected to the Sunday school superintendency, succeeding suc-ceeding Dennis Beauregard as second assistant to Supt. John Larson. He also conducted a class, in the school, and was a talented aid in the ward choir Mr. Bird has proved himself a public spirited man in all these positions posi-tions of ecclesiastic trust, and no less active in business and social circles. A goodly number were in attendance attend-ance at the social, and Mr. Bird goes back to Milford with the best wishes from this community for his future success. The same good will is shared by Mrs. Bird, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Gribble. |
