Show A Succession of Accidents. AT AXTELL, Last Friday as he was engaged on the farm discing with a renovator Rullle Nelson, a son of H. W. Nelson, accldently had his foot caught under the machine and quite badly lacerated before the team which he was driving could be stopped. Dr. Ilagan was summoned to dress the wounded foot and the young man Is now recovering nicely. On Wednesday evening N. P.Soren-son P.Soren-son had his hip badly bruised through being run over by a wagon. Sorenson it appears was standing by the wagon, to which his team was hitched and the lines fastened to a stake in the rack. The team became lrigntened arid as they started off Sorenson tried to stop the horses by grasping grasp-ing the lines, but was himself thrown down in the attempt and run over by the heavy wagon, as stated. It is thought no bones were broken but the injury was such that a physician was deemed necessary and Dr. Hagan was called. AT CEMTEKFIELD. A team of three horses belonging to George Peterson was reduced to that of two horses, from an accident which happened Wednesday afternoon. after-noon. A sou of Mr. Peterson was driving the team, hitched to "a disc, home from the farm when a motorcycle motor-cycle happened by and caused the horses to run away. The boy was thrown from the machine, escaping injury. But one of tnehorses, hitched hitch-ed to the outerside, became entangled under the machine and three of its feet were completely severed, necessitating necessitat-ing the animal to be shot. The two remaining horses, after continuing on about a block further collided with a telephone pole and were thus released from the already broken up machine. Tne Relief society day here was a decided success. A good program was rendered and dinner partaken of in the afternoon, and a quiet, orderly dance ai.d .upper indulged at night. The water meeting called for last Saturday did not take place, owing to the speaker who was expected from Salt Lake not cominj. The band was out and a goodly number of citizens was on hand to hear the question discussed. Attorney George Christenson met with the town board on Friday night discussing preliminaries, prelimi-naries, but was obliged to return to Mt. Pleasant on Saturday. |
