To avenge himself on the husband of the woman ifor whose wronging he had just completed complet-ed a five-year term in the peniten tiary, Joseph Brown, shot and killed Robert Gilruth while the latter, accompanied ac-companied by his brother, was walking walk-ing along the road near Chickerman's mill, six miles west of Lolo. Mont; Brown was arrested in Missoula a few hours later, and a brother of the slain man is held in custody as a witness. When arrested for the crime. Brown c'eclared that he ha-1 been attacked by the Gilruth brothers.
