Oddie of Nevada, George "Wingfield on Monday declined de-clined tbe appointment of United States senator to succeed the late Senator George S. Nixon. Wingfield states that after giving the matter due consideration he has come to the conclusion con-clusion that, he can best serve the slate by continuing as the active head of the luitincss interests with which he is identified.
