Show Two Centerfield Boys Enter Potato Contest. Among four boys from this county who have entered the potato growing contest inaugurated by the National Copper bank of Salt Lake are Vernon Roylance and Freddie Nielson. both of Centerfield. The other two aie Kuel H. Seely of Mt. Pleasant and Ernest E. Livingston of Manti. According to a personal letter received re-ceived from President Armstrong of the bank named there are 1S7 entries from the whole state but it is likely more will be added before A pril 30, the date of closing the .i-ii. Considering Con-sidering its resources Sanpete county is not well enough represented. It would have been encouraging to note one or more entries from Gunnison. Of itself their entering for the cup and $100 offered in this competition is of no public importance, but it is hoped the prize will be enough inducement to cause a more careful study of farming subjects and a deeper interest in-terest in farm life and that is of the deepest importance. The first boy to eDter was Horace Tanner, Jr., of Murray. The youngest young-est boy so far entered is Alfred T. Lund of Paragonah, Utah, who will not be ten years old until July 7. |
