Show Gunnison's Most Aged Woman Called by Death. Christiana Anderson of this city passed away Wednesday morning, after a career of 98 years, 8 months and 5 days, Deceased was familiarly known as "'the de.-if woman." She had spent a life of toil, restles s unless .employed , until about two years ago when the iiale constitution she posssesed gave way and she was compelled by Datura to accept attendance at-tendance from others. Having no known relatives Bhe has been careJ for at tbe borne of Mrs. Louisa Larson, Lar-son, where she died and from which place funeral service takes pltce this Friday at one o'olock. Mrs. Anderson was a native of Denmark and came to Utah in 1862, settling first at Ephraim where she became the wile of Christian Anderson, Ander-son, whom sho survived. She has been a resident of Gunnison since 18Go, but kept herself for the most part aloof from public activity. Had Mrs. Anderson eurvived another four months che would have entered the century year of her life. She was born April 28, 1813, near Kolding, Denmark, where she was baptized in tbe Mormon faith to which she adhered ad-hered through life. |
