Show Who, Can Vote.: Many young people within the county will caBt their first ballots oa the 5th of next November, and many who are now of the age of majority or are closely approaching that age are heard to inquire as to what are the qualifications for voters . For the benefit of such persons, we give herewith here-with the requirements that must be complied with before a person is entitled en-titled to vote at the ensuing electiou. Under the election laws of this state no person is entitled to vote whose name does not appear upon the official offi-cial registration list, Young people should consult such list or visit the registration agent of their district and become familiar with these things. Any person who voted at the last general election or at the last municipal munici-pal election should be able to find his or her name upon the registration lists; but mistakes creep in some times, and it is therefore advisable for all voters to make sura that their names are upon the lists, even though they voted two years ago or Bt the last city election. All who did not vote atone or the other of these elections elec-tions must register again in order to vote this year. Any person can register and vote : (1) Who is a citizen of the United States, either native boru or naturalized. natural-ized. A naturalized citizen must produce pro-duce his naturalization papers or a copy thereof, and must have been admitted to citizenship at leaBt ninety days prior to the day of election, to be entitled to registration. (2) Who is now 21 years of age, or will be 21 years of age prior to the 5th day of next November. (3) Who on the 5th dav of next November will have resided in the state of Utah for one year, in this county four mouths, and in this precinct pre-cinct for sixty days uext preceding. |
