Show REBEL LEADER CAPTURED ! BY AMERICAN SOLDIERS General Carrtpa and His Staff Crosses the American Line and Are Now Prisoners of United States. Tucson, Arizona. After a chase through northern Sonora by federal troops, following his raid on mining camps and the lines of the Southern. Pacific- railroad, Emilio P. Campa, the rebel leader, and his staff crossed the American line south of here and now are prisoners of the United States authorities. The identity of the rebel leader was not knowa until Monday morning, when, after a positive identification iden-tification by Dr. Ruffo, who calls himself him-self the Marquis of Scilla, he admitted his Identity and said he was tired ot fighting. Hard pressed by the pursuing federals fed-erals and practically destitute of ammunition, am-munition, Campa decided to seek safety in the United States with the faint hope that he might be able to get ammunition at Casas Grandes or Gila Bend, west of Tucsos. Stories that Campa got out with $300,000 as the result of his campaign of loot through northern Sonora are scouted by the United States authorities. |
