Show Hogs Succumbed to Poisoned Wheat. A case was brought in Justice Albert Al-bert Swaiu's court Tuesday on change of venue from the Centerfield justice. The complainant was Heber J Burningham, who claimed to have had a number of hogs poisoned from their having eaten of wheat contaminated contami-nated with Btrychnine and layed out supposedly for gopher bait by the defendant, Arthur V. Metcalf, on his own premises which adjoins plaintiff's plain-tiff's place. J. W. Cherry, attorney for defendant, defend-ant, and Prosecutor George Christen sen agreed to a modified complaint) lessening the charge simply to a misdemeanor, mis-demeanor, to which defendant plead ed guilty and a fiue of $25 imposed by mutual consent of both the attorneys and of the court. |
