Show THAT was a fine set of resolutions put out by the Progressives in Chicago. It was in substance sub-stance as follows: "Whereas our defeat in 1912 looked like a defeat, de-feat, it was really a victory. "Now, therefore, we have fixed our convention on the same day as the Republicans, we have but one man to nominate; that is T. R.; indeed, without him we would cease to exist as a party and in the goodness of our hearts we agree that if the Republicans will likewise nominate him, we will forgive them enough to permit them to vote for him, and take them back as camp followers on probation." |
