Show The State Fair "THE management of the State Fair has this year been seriously handicapped by strikes and rains, but we are informed that the display, especially in fruits and live stock, is superior to that of any previous fair in this state. The State Fair is one of the educational institutions in-stitutions of the state, intended to be a guide to settlers; to bring out everything new in agriculture agricul-ture and mechanics; to enable men from different sections of our great state to gather, that they may exchange confidences and obtain new ideas; to Intensify generous rivalries between different sections; to enable men to make shrewd comparisons compar-isons and to study the different effects of climate, soils and methods of cultivation, and generally to promote the pride of citizens in the great state, and should be encouraged by all who hold the welfare of the state as something worthy the "utmost intelligent help of every citizen. |
