Show Hj ORPHEUM. Hi H The road show at the Orpheum is hardly a H road show, but there is a lot of good stuff in it, Hj and it starts right off the reel with the Arnaul H ..Brothers, European tumbling clowns, whose musl- H ' cal executions while bounding all over the stage Hii in various acrobatic feats, are remarkable as well Hjjl, as amiming. H Felix and Caire in a humorous sketch called B "The Runaway Kids," alternate between clever- H')j ness and mediocrity, though the imitation given Hi i by Felix of Richard Carle is a scream. He does H not do so well as Billy Rock and his Fred Stonq H' is impossible. But then who could imitate Fred H' Stone's dancing? Little Felix, however, got away Hi with a lot of songs and dances and business that Hi would do credit to a much older performer. H "Honor Among Thieves" is a great little H sketch, well acted by George Leach, Kingsley H Benedict, William Foran and Thomas Delmar. It H is an ingenius situation, carefully thought out and H nicely put together, and has provided a great deal H of interest for Orpheum patrons during the week. H Oscar Loraine, the Protean violinist, was best H as the Gypsy "Rigo". His act could be shortened to advantage, as jere-nro those in-the audience H who worry durinL his performance in fear that he Hl will not get it all out of his system. H The Eight Palace Girls, whether they came H! from the Palace or not, do as well as any eight 1' girls trained to the minute in a series of dances m and their black and white costumes and stage set- ' tings proved very effective. Hl Keller Mack and Frank Ortli, song writers, in ! . some old and new stuff, amused all of the people some of the time and part of the people all the H ' time, and the posing of Simone De Berryl was Hl very interesting to everyone, though the real art m 1st was the man behind the color effects, t AH in all, it is a jry fair bill, though not the K road show Martin used to send us, by any manner ff! of means. |
