Show m BROKERS FOOLING WITH VICTORIA. Victoria's quick recovery from a low price of 52 cents is evidence that the mine was not to blame for the abrupt decline of the share a week ago. The real facts in the case have not come out, but an incident on the exchange points to "market strategy," the polite name for manipulation, manipula-tion, as the cause of the slump. All of the brokers brok-ers present, with two exceptions, were shocked when one of their number offered a block of "Victoria at 52 and sold it at that price while several brokers with buying orders .were shouting shout-ing themselves black In the face with offers of 53 cents. The selling and the buying brokers were charged with collusion for the purpose of getting possession of the shares under the legitimate legiti-mate price. There was much discussion of the sale, but the matter went no farther as the evidence evi-dence was purely circumstantial. Just to show that he was not bluffing when he said that he had ore in his new property, Tony Jacobson this week shipped four wagonloads of rock from the Alta Consolidated to the sampler. He may wish also to show the Columbus Extension Ex-tension people that it is not his fault if they, can't find ore where he did in the mine he sold them. |
