Show Hi Early deliveries in all machines scheduled for Kj ! San Francisco are being diverted, and no little ' rivalry has sprung up among the agencies in the up to the effect that the San Francisco disaster would have early in the game and as they made immediate requests that the cars come to their 1 respective territories, there's a great hullabaloo among those agents who weren't busy soon enough. Salt Lake was fortunate in securing a number of these fine cars which were immediately gobbled, mf and it Is very likely that more cars will be shown 1 by the different agents here. 1 Mr. Palmer of the Pope-Toledo company is now 1 , in the city figuring out just how many machines we are entitled to, and other representatives are expected shortly. All of the Pierce-Arrow cars which were book-ed book-ed for San Francisco will be switched to Phlladel-phia, Phlladel-phia, the agents of the machines in the Quaker city having taken the complete supply from the 1 Buffalo people. They have also offered to take all of this year's Pierce cars at the list price from those San Francisco owners who wish to sell. B; The Winton purchased by J. J. Daly while in Hj San Francisco is expected to be here before the j end of the month. Mr. Daly left the car in the Hj stricken city to be used in the Red Cross service, until the worst of the trouble had passed. He succumbed to the charms of this car 7 a week ago, and his machine as well as the two sold to the Nevada people will arrive the middle of next week. t & The. beauty about most of the automobiles of the 1906 models is that you can see them coming and going but you can't hear them. i$ D. C. Jackling's new car, the Rochet-Schneider is expected to arrive early in the coming week. j The Utah Automobile company has secured the services of Mr. Harry Elliott, one of oldest and most efficient men in the business. He has had an experience of seven years beginning with the Locomobile people. Previous to making the change Mr. Eilliott was associated with Mr. George T. Odell handling the Rambler cars for which Mr. Odell's company has the agency. Some interesting import auto statistics are furnished fur-nished by "The Horseless Age" as follows: ThoUgh the recent er'tmate, founded on the New York Custom House figures, regarding the - number of automobiles Imported into this country last year was almost 200 in excess of the actual number, there were still 896 cars imported during 1905, of which 827 were entered at the port of New York. The corrected figures are given in an official report obtained from the Department ot Commerce and Labor by the Association of Licensed Li-censed Automobile manufacturers. A shipment of Rebs arrived at the Sharman agency during the week. J jt & The little fellows who are delaying to buy an automobile for fear of a raise in the price of gasoline gas-oline can now take heart,- for congress is about to pass a bill providing for the removal of the internal inter-nal revenue on denatured alcohol The manufacture manufac-ture of this in large quantities will have the tendency ten-dency of keeping the price of gasoline within modest reach.
