That Rule A of Section 517 of tho Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, as amended by an ordinance amending Section 517 of Chapter XXXV of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, passed June 30, 1905, and approved ap-proved July 5, 1905, bo and tho samo hereby Is amended and re-onacted so as to read as follows: Rule A. No plumbing work shall be bogun without first obtaining a permit therefor. Every building in which plumbing arrangements arc constructed shall bo connected with tho city sowor, whoro such sowor is provided, and when It is not provided, with a cesspool cess-pool In a location and with a capacity to bo approved by tho board of health. Every plumber, boforo doing plumbing work on any building, and before making mak-ing any additions to old work, excepting except-ing repairs (and repairs aro defined to consist of mending leaks in dram, soil, waste and vent pipes, and repairs on faucets, valves and water supply pipes, and of forcing out wasto pipes, or replacing re-placing water closet bowl, or opening soil or wasto pipes to romovo an obstruction), ob-struction), shall obtain a written permit, per-mit, issued by said Plumbing Inspector, Inspec-tor, to do said work; provided, that In buildings which aro condemned by tho board of health or Plumbing Inspector because of unsanitary condition, no plumbing shall bo considered as coming com-ing under tho head of repairs, but all plumbing shall bo done as in tho case of now buildings.
