M f They will be here several weeks and Miss M k , Maclean will introduce them at a tea to be given M , at her home on Tuesday next in honor of the vis- M itors and Miss Daly. Important in its interest to their large number num-ber of friends in Salt Lake, was the marriage of Miss Marian McGllvray, daughter of Mrs. W. D. McGilvray of Pasadena, California, to O. J. Salisbury Salis-bury of this city, which took place at the homo of the bride on Wednesday evening, the Reverend Rever-end Thomas Bwing Sherman of Chicago officiating. officiat-ing. The bride was attended only by Mrs. Lewis B. McCornick of this city, and Walker Salisbury and Irving Armstrong stood with the groom. The wedding, which was a very beautiful home affair, af-fair, was attended by a number of Salt Lakeis, as well as a number of Intimate friends from Pasadena and Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Salisbury will not arrive here until late in August, and upon their arrival will be at home at the Salisbury residence on East First South. O tJ w The local friends of Charles DIckman, the California artist and clubman, will read with Interest In-terest that he has just added to his other successes suc-cesses a new picture, now hanging in the Del Monte Art Gallery. It is described as a large canvass, entitled "Caught In The Storm Wind," and is described in the most flattering terms by the California critics as a realistic and spectacular spectacu-lar piece of work, and he is ghen particular commendation com-mendation for refraining from yielding to the usual temptation to exaggerate the fury of the elements. O 5 It was interesting to a number of the friends of the principals at the McGllvray-Salisbury wedding wed-ding to read a description of the affair in one of the local papers the morning preceding the event. Such advance news is to be commended, but only goes to show the efficiency of the Hearst service. ser-vice. & ,e The next week or two will be replete with graduating exercises, though it is possible that the mothers and fathers and sisters and brothers and the sweet girl graduates themselves will find time to attend the many social affairs af-fairs which are being arranged, principally among, those of the younger set. t& t The most elaborate affair scheduled for next week is the Daly-Llllard wedding, which will occur at St. Mark's cathedral on Wednesday Wednes-day evening, June 9th. The wedding will take place at 8:30 and immediately following a large reception will be given at the handsome Daly home on Brigham street. Miss Daly will bq attended at-tended by her sister, Mrs. B. J. Roberts, as j matron of honor; Miss Selma Wall as maid of honor, and Miss Alice Wall as bridesmaid. Graham G. Griswold of Portland, Oregon, will be best man for Mr. Lillard, and the ushers will be John Clark, Barry Colding, Jack Lloyd and Albert Daly- Bishop Scanlan will perform the ceremony. cere-mony. Mrs. Ellsworth Daggett was hostess at an informal in-formal luncheon at the Country club on Wed-J, Wed-J, nesday, given in honor of Mrs. George Tuttle. The marriage of Miss Mabel Yeager and Dr. K. L. Bernard, took place at the First Presby-r Presby-r terlan church on Thursday, the Reverend Dr. Paden officiating. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Clark, Jr., are here from Los Angeles, and may remain several days before going to their homo in Butte. One of the largest and prettiest luncheons at the Country club Wednesday was that at which Mrs. M. H. Kerwin was hostess. Covers were laid for twenty. In honor of the anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth C. Kerr, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Reid entertained at bridge Wednesday evening, even-ing, followed by an elaborate supper. The weddiu, of Miss Agnes Patterson and Mr. Fred Hanson took place at the home of the brides fatter, Joseph Lipman, on Wednesday evening, the Reverend P. A. Simpkin performing the ceremony. The wedding was a quiet affair, attended only by the relatives and a few intimate friends. Mrs. J. W. Houston and the Misses Houston I have returned from the east. Mrs. Wm.
