Show FOR THE CONGRESS. fl In itself tho Irrigation Congress which is to B meet in Ogden within a few lays is merely a B meeting of gentlemen to consider and discuss H practical questions which concorn the prosperity B and well-being of tho state and tho nation. B But it is something more than that to the peo- B pie of Utah. There will gather at the Congress B some of the foremost men of many states, and B they will receive impressions favorable or un- H favorable, just as tho mon and women of Utah H receive them. We have no doubt that the man- H agers are doing all they can, no dpubt that the i M people of Ogden will supplement the work of M the committees In royal style, but Salt Lake and M Provo and Logan all the region not too far re- M moved from Ogden must join and do their ut- M most to make the Congress not only a success but M so marked a success that the strangers will bo M forced to admit that they havo received new les- M sons In hospitality and have witnessed new In- H ventions in tho art of making guests welcome. Tho weather ought to bo at its best. The state H ought to be all smiles; the hills, the valleys, the H lake ought all to be In perfect form, and so ought H the people to be. This city, opoecially, ought to H be in full force at the Congresp We are sure tho H transportation companies will do the right thing H and so while giving Ogden preference In all ways, H If there come times when to rest Ogden a pait H of the Congress can draw away for a few hours B then Salt Lake should open m ide its gates and B make the visitors sure that they are welcome. fl The Congress must be a success if tho people fl of Utah can make it one, and who doubts their fl ability? A sign should be put up and upon it B an" inscription should bo painted to road as fol- fl lows: "Utah Is an Open Door. Walk In." ;. B |
