First, the masses of the people eat better and richer food than they formerly for-merly did; second, a great many of those whose lungs are delicate move away, but the last and greatest cause of all is that the stock of the people peo-ple has greatly ohanged. More than half the people peo-ple are foreigners or the immediate descendants of foreigner. More than half the modern New Englanders Are Irish, German and French Canadians Cana-dians among whom there is no hereditary taint of consumption. |
