Show FOR MAYOR THOMPSON. H The irrepressible small boy with the big fire H cracker and the hoodlum and tough with pistol H and bomb are already raising considerable havoc H in anticipation of the big celebration on the H Fourth of July. Their noisy contributions have H already caused considerable damage and up to date H these ante-Fourth festivities have resulted in three jH tunaways and one accident, and probably many H others that nave not been reported. The placing of H big firecrackers and torp'edoes in .the streets is a H menace to the public "safety, and the city council H should take some action towards making this H kind of promiscuous sport a misdemeanor. It is H sufficient of a burden to take the risks pertaining H to the' Fourth of July uproar, although no one ob- H jects to that, but there should certainly be some H lestrictions on the use of these dangerous explo- H slves at any other time. H If the council hasn't time to act the mayor B should, and effectively stop this nuisance which starts a month before, and continues a month JM after each Fourth of July. H |
