Show Along the ocean's shores stations are established estab-lished and crews kept In training for the rescue of the people on board ships that may in fog or storm or darkness be driven upon the coasts. The death of Roy Larkln and the suffering and danger dan-ger of Miss Pomeroy and Mr. Wells last week, suggest that during the bathing season bouya should be set at the deep water limit and a scow should be anchored off Saltair in deep water and an expert boatman should be kept there to watch for accidents and to go to the rescue of anyone in danger. It would not cost much. The city could afford to bear the expense. Such a guard might not be needed the whole season through but the cost of keeping it would be nothing compared with the catastrophe of last week. |
